Field Technician
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 1 year actual field experience in surveying
- Must have clean driving record
- Well-developed understanding of general concepts of residential/commercial survey work
- Working knowledge of relevant technical software, field instrumentation, GPS, and robotic total stations
- Certified Survey Technician, Level II or III (CST) or ability to obtain within specified timeframe
- Ability to work outdoors, repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
- Ability to make arithmetic computations accurately and record results legibly
- Ability to carry out written and oral directions
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to maintain favorable public relations
- Ability to maintain records, and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work
- Knowledge of or ability to learn mathematics, survey computer programs, and survey computations applicable to the work
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the use of mechanical drawing instruments or survey computer programs
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the symbols of drafting
- Knowledge of or ability to learn surveying instruments and equipment and their use and care
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the principles and practices of land surveying
- Knowledge of or ability to learn state law regarding the establishments of plats, property lines, and survey monuments
- Demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation
- Must have an excellent driving record and valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of a Professional Surveyor and Mapper, perform land survey field work to determine precise locations and elevations
- Familiarity with subdivision plats, construction plans and RW maps
- Be able to assemble field data, field notes and perform survey calculations, using survey instrumentation and computer programs
- Stake out for Storm Line, Sanitary Sewer Lines, Building/Property Corners, etc
- Willing to advance

- Experience: Land Surveying FIELD/ AutoCAD 1 year (Preferred)
- License/Certification: Driver's License (Required)

Office Technician
Qualifications
- Must have knowledge of and be able to successfully operate AutoCAD in the efficient preparation of digital mapping products that accurately depict the results of all surveys performed (boundary, topographic, construction layout, as-built, quantity, control, special purpose, etc.); Occasional field activities to observe and collect data (measurements and observations) and/or verify previously acquired data may be required from time to time
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with AutoCAD
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and have own transportation to and from work
- Field experience working with a survey crew as well as previous experience working as an in-office survey technician
- Must possess the ability to take personal initiative and maintain confidentiality of work assignments
- Ability to read and understand maps, legal descriptions, deeds and construction plans
- Must be a Team player who is self-motivated but can work independently as needed
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task on multiple assigned projects
- Familiarity with the Florida Standards of Practice and the Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and municipalities requirements
